Grell's firstborn son of an unknown father, Nigel Sutcliff is one of the youngest residents of Wayne Manor. As he was born in the canon timeframe and ages naturally, Nigel's existence as a character is relatively minor in terms of ability or action, but quite major to Grell herself for familial reasons. Nigel has few interests which encompass playing with his (soccer) football and his Rockruff, aptly named Rock. He has very few friends at Wayne Manor and considers Appleslice as one of his only friends. Despite his mother's concerns Nigel yearns to explore and will wander around the mansion while she's at work.
Personality[]
Perhaps due to his upbringing and a litany of terrible events and losses he witnessed or experienced Nigel is not quite as innocent as most children. He expects most people he gets to know will disappear from his life one day and leave, which was reinforced by people like Rocks or his other adoptive brothers disappearing. Because of this Nigel is desperately afraid of losing what little he has like Rock or his mother.
Nigel hates being made to feel inferior or stupid and has little patience to tolerate it. When angered, Nigel never resorts to violence but isn't beyond shouting and saying his mind.

- It's often noted Nigel has a hell of a kick thanks to some strange dub-rolls when he was still a young baby.
- Nigel is a quiet child, unusual given the propensity of Sutcliffs.
- Unlike the rest of his family, including Alton Sutcliff, Nigel is the only Sutcliff with natural dark (black) hair. He also has green eyes, just like his mother.
- While he does spend time with Rocks, Nigel's favorite brother is Nicholas Sutcliff.
- Thanks to Grell's attentiveness to Nigel's development, Nigel is slightly advanced for his age mentally and has a small vocabulary of words he can say when the mood strikes him.
