Agnès is very intent on her role as a vestal and is not keen on letting others accompany her on the notion that bringing light to the crystals is her sole mission and does not want other people to become burdened with her problems.
History[]
Wed to the Crystal of Wind, Agnès Oblige acts as the Crystal's Vestal and has spent most of her life within the Wind Crystal Shrine situated in the Western Front of the great Harena desert. There, she spent her time in steady prayer, channeling the prayers of the people into the crystal and purifying it from any taint.
The Crystal's light is mother to all creation, to all life. Purified by the Vestal's rites, their incandescence warded the world from disaster. However, on one fateful day, a great darkness overcame all of the world's crystals; sucking away their light and leaving the world to perish.
With the crystal's lights gone, the winds stopped, the seas began to rot, fires raged...and the earth was clouded in a darkness so that no living thing could exist.
Under the recommendations of king Eloch Quentis Khamer VIII, Agnès set out on a journey to find a means to return the crystal's light and save the world from its impending oblivion. Upon reaching the dark and deathly chasm that had once been the sleepy little town of Norende came across a rift to another world. Interpreting the rift's appearance as a sign of the fates, Agnès stepped forth into this new world, confident that therein lied the means to save her world from certain doom.
